House of Representatives: deferral until October 1

The House of Representatives recently carried a number of motions on the economic corona support measures. Among other things, the House is of the opinion that tax deferral must be extended to October 1, 2021 and that the government should explore policy alternatives for a temporary solidarity levy. The House expects a reaction before August 1, 2021. In addition, the following motions were carried by the House:

    • A team of government officials must be set up to work out a plan before Prinsjesdag 2021, which will include a solution for small businesses running into payment problems.
    • Explore if the administrative burden of the NOW can be further reduced by bringing it in line with the other schemes.
    • Investigate the options of a cessation scheme, to support entrepreneurs who wish to terminate their businesses.
    • Put a tax team in place for distressing cases.
