As of the spring of 2021 you can obtain a € 5,000 subsidy for the purchase or lease of an emission-free, or in other words clean, delivery van. This was recently announced by State Secretary van Veldhoven of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Following from the Klimaatakkoord (Climate Agreement), in the spring of 2021 a subsidy scheme for clean delivery vans is to be introduced. The subsidy awarded will be 10% of the price of the van when new, with a maximum of € 5,000. The scheme will apply up to and including 2025. There is a total amount of € 185 million subsidy available, for 2021 this is € 22 million.
In order to claim the subsidy for a clean delivery van, entrepreneurs must meet the following conditions:
- The delivery van has to have a minimal action radius of 100 kilometres.
- There are a maximum number of delivery vans that a business can claim subsidy for.
- If the delivery van is sold on within three years the subsidy has to be partly repaid. If you purchase a clean delivery van you can, of course, also make use of the other tax schemes such as the environmental investment allowance.
